2013 Week 17: Detroit Lions vs Minnesota Vikings
NFL Team Stats, Key Players, & Injury Reports
Detroit Lions (7-8)
Detroit is coming into this game with a record of 1-4 in the last 5 games, on a 3 game losing streak although the last 2 loses were by field goal. The team has the goods to win but always seem to fall short in the 4th quarter throughout the season. It doesn’t matter if the Lions win or lose, they will not be in the playoffs this year. However, this win does matter to some. It seems as though Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz job is on the line. So it would help to end the season at 8-8.
Minnesota Vikings (4-10-1)
Minnesota coming into this game with a division record of 1-3-1, 4-3 at home, and 2-2-1 in the last 5 games. With records like this its hard to say that the Vikings will win this game. The only thing going for Minnesota is if they can push the rushing yards against the Lions. This will be the only chance Minnesota have at winning this game.
Detroit Lions at Minnesota Vikings Odds & Prediction
I’m not use to predicting games with 2 losing teams. I mean where do you find the value? Well that is exactly what I asked myself and I began looking at the teams stats, injury reports (which wasn’t much to talk about) as well as the odds at different online bookies. I found the value at BitBook with Minnesota Vikings the 3 point favorites, the Detroit Lions have 2.11 (+111) odds. I am only going to risk 1 unit on the Lions to cover the spread on this game as there are more important games to bet more units on come Sunday.
